Harry Potter Star Joins The Apparition

Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" franchise, has joined the writer/director Todd Lincoln's The Apparition at Dark Castle. Felton joins previously announced cast members Ashley Greene ("Twilight"), Sebastian Stan, Julianna Guill, Luke Pasqualino and Suzanne Ford. Little is known about the film's story other than it concerns a couple haunted by a supernatural presence in the wake of a college experiment. The project, produced by Joel Silver, Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman, is now filming.

Screen Gems' new drama Dear John, starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, took the industry by surprise and kept James Cameron's Avatar from topping the domestic box office for an eighth straight time. Directed by Lasse Hallstrom and based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, Dear John earned an estimated $32.4 million from 2,969 theaters, a strong average of $10,913 per theater. Captain America to be Cast Soon

The First Avenger: Captain America director Joe Johnston told SCI FI Wire that they'll have their Captain America very soon: "We need to cast it soon," Johnston said. "We have a very short list, but we're still juggling actors here. I'd say within the next couple of weeks we'll have ourselves a Captain America, I hope." He added that the movie is expected to start shooting at the end of June. He said, "We're getting ready to go to the U.K., it looks like." You can read more of the interview here! Avatar Passes Titanic at the Domestic Box Office

James Cameron's Avatar passed up the filmmaker's own Titanic at the domestic box office on Tuesday to claim that crown as well. Avatar reached $601,141,551 after 47 days to pass up the $600,788,188 that Titanic earned its entire run. Internationally, Avatar had already passed up Titanic's $1,242,413,080, and now stands at $1,446,989,293. Worldwide, Avatar has brought in $2,048,130,844 so far, while Titanic earned $1,843,201,268 total.
