Chris Messina will star in Universal Pictures’ Devil, a horror-thriller based on an M. Night Shyamalan story that will be directed by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle.
The film is being produced by Shyamalan and Sam Mercer. Brian Nelson (30 Days of Night) wrote the script.
Messina is set to play the lead role of Bowden, a sobered-up homicide detective. No other plot details have been revealed.
Filming is scheduled to start in Toronto on October 26.
